Course Content: This is a case-based curriculum designed to help nurses better meet the cultural and linguistic needs of an increasingly diverse patient population. These modules are based on the principles outlined in the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Health Care issued in December 2000.
Three modules are offered--I: Delivering Culturally Competent Nursing Care, II: Using Language Access Services and III: Supporting and Advocating for Culturally Competent Health Care Organizations.
Target Audience: Nurses and counselors, as well as program managers at Title X clinics.
CEUs: Yes. Course is approved for 9.0 contact hours for nurses and for 9.0 continuing education contact hours for social workers. More information about CEUs is on the course website.
